Farm at the Zoo
Fall Field Trips
GISC's first field trips of the school year were to the Chicago Botanic Garden on Tuesday, October 7 (Kindergarten through 4th grade classes) and the Lincoln Park Zoo on Wednesday, October 8 (preschool classes). They were fun and informative days for all!
German Consul Visit
German Consul Visit
On Wednesday, October 15, GISC enjoyed a visit from new German Consul General Herbert Quelle. Herr Quelle toured the school and met several GISC students while learning more about GISC.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parents had the chance to check in with GISC teachers about their children's progress during the first parent-teacher conferences of the year Wednesday, October 15 through Friday, October 17.  Parents were able to get a good idea of what their kids have already mastered and where the learning focus will be in the coming months.
NPN School Fair
GISC at Unity Day and NPN School Fair
GISC got the word out about the school with booths at the Day of German Unity celebration at the Union League Club on Thursday, October 2, and at the Neighborhood Parents Network (NPN) School Fair on Saturday, October 18. GISC representatives chatted about GISC with interested parties at both events and answered questions about the school.

GISC and the DANK Haus welcome children of all ages and backgrounds to a fun-filled autumn celebration. Admission includes a lantern kit that children can use to personalize their own lantern, plus free crafts, storytelling, and a sing-along. Face painting as well as baked goods, juice, water, beer and gl�hwein will be available for purchase.

 

Admission tickets are $7 each for adults (ages 15+) and children (ages 2-14). Children under age 2 are free. Space is limited, and there are less than 100 tickets left! Click here to purchase your tickets today -- there will be no at-the-door sales.
