New - The Get Youth Working! This grant program is extended for new hires with a start date on or after April 1st, 2014. The Get Youth Working! Program is funded through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement. The Program offers employers a $2,800 hiring incentive (up to 3 employees at $2,800 each) to hire eligible youth 15 to 29 years of age. Additionally, employers may request up to $1,000 to purchase training for the newly hired youth. Click here for the application.

Shane Volpatti and Peter Bernacki, two local business men recently opened a trust account to help electrician Chris Miller and his wife Joanne Lachance. Chris suffered a stroke in January, which has left him with serious physical deficits and is unable to work. Friends are being encouraged to help the family by making a donation to the Chris Miller Trust Account No. 334459 at RCU.

Need to tie up loose ends?
Beginning May 1, 2014 until May 1, 2015 the City will be waiving building permit renewal fees in a effort to encourage applicants and property owners to pursue completion of outstanding building permits.
