KenCast Exhibits Body-Worn-Camera Technology at IACP

October 24, 2014 - Norwalk, CT. KenCast, Inc., a leader in satellite and terrestrial content delivery solutions, is proud to exhibit new innovations within the field of body-worn camera (BWC) transmission at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Expo in Orlando, Florida, Oct. 25-28th.  KenCast's VazztCaster and Vazzt™ Video On The Move (VOTM) technology will be on exhibit with a live demonstration at Booth #2627.

The KenCast Video On the Move (VOTM) solution for First Responders ensures transmission of live streaming video from BWC and dashboard cameras directly to a secure, distributed cloud based archive with minimal latency.

Video content transmitted via the VOTM solution may be combined with other data from a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, such as voice communications, message traffic and the vehicle's GPS location to substantiate the Chain of Custody of video evidence.

This standalone technology from KenCast will showcase the pairing of BWCs with commercially available SmartPhones that function over bonded commercial networks via KenCast transmission and archive software as a service (SaaS).  Elements of two main use cases will be demonstrated at the show:

1. Body Worn Camera (BWC) Live Streaming via a Mobile Device

  • BWC connects to Android device via Wi-Fi
  • Bandwidth may be increased with Bonded devices
  • Available for viewing on multiple devices or direct to archive
  • Chain of Custody verified with GPS, date and time data

2. Body Worn Camera (BWC) Live Streaming via Wireless Mobile

    Terminal (WMT)

  • BWC connects to WMT in vehicle via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
  • Dashboard Camera connected directly to WMT
  • Up to eight (8) Bonded 3G/4G Networks for high bandwidth
  • Store & Forward for BWC video collected out of range
  • Chain of Custody verified with GPS, date and time data

CEO Bill Steele commented on the show's opportunity: "KenCast's unique advantage of highly secure, low latency video and data transmission perfectly positions us to immediately address the needs of law enforcement agencies to stream and archive live video utilizing commercially available mobile devices, networks and cloud archives."
