    Dear Friends,

    I'm thrilled to let you know that my latest book, The Bible's Cutting Room Floor: The Holy Scriptures Missing From Your Bible, goes on sale today.

    In it, I explore the part of the Adam and Eve story that was cut from the Bible, the sometimes troubling account of Abraham's childhood, the mysterious Book of Enoch, and many more texts that fell to the Bible's cutting room floor in antiquity. I also highlight the uncanny relevance these ancient writings have for us today with their unique perspectives on good and evil.

    The Table of Contents is on-line, as are some early reviews. You can even start reading a sample right now.

    My speaking schedule for the fall is packed, with book tours that will take me from coast to coast and from north to south. (Find a list of my upcoming public events here.)

    I still have some availability in the spring, though that's filling up quickly, too. So please be in touch right away to schedule a book signing or scholar-in-residence event for 2015.

    Like my last book, this material speaks to Jews and Christians alike, so it's well suited to synagogue, church, and interfaith audiences.

    		Travel Spotlight

    This travel spotlight comes from San Diego, where we held a thoroughly enjoyable pre-launch book signing in August at the Lawrence Family JCC in La Jolla.

    Though it was only a brief trip, I managed to sneak away for a few hours to visit the delightful San Diego Zoo Safari, located just half an hour outside of San Diego. The combination of jet lag and giraffes was surreal.

    California is a magical place.

    As a companion to The Bible's Cutting Room Floor, I've been building out a website called "The Unabridged Bible," with on-line summaries of some of the material from the book, plus a lot of information that I didn't have room for.

    The site also features a blog, where I'll be discussing the material from the book. And the blog has a spot for Q&A, so if you have questions about the book or anything related to it, that's the place to start.
