Paper towel compost program
King's is working to improve its environmental performance by composting paper towel waste instead of sending it to the landfill.
A pilot program began on Monday, August 25th in the restrooms in Wemple. In these restrooms you will notice new bins for paper towels only. Please use them accordingly and dispose of any other materials in the waste bin to avoid contaminating the paper towel bin.
If you have any questions about this program or other green initiatives on campus, contact us at [email protected]

Chimney Swifts roost at King's
Chimney Swifts are small swallow-like birds that can be spotted soaring up to 160 kms per hour across many of Ontario's urban centres, including King's, Huron and Western campuses, every spring and summer.
In August large waves of migrating swifts have been overnighting in the Wemple building chimney on their way south, with upwards of 1000 birds an evening returning to the chimney at dusk. Ontario Swift Care released 7 baby Chimney Swifts this past week from our roof. They were rehabilitated baby birds found in Toronto and Oakville and brought here to be cared for and returned to the flock.
