JUNE 30

Early Bird and Finance Summary Deadline

Early Bird registration for the 2014-15 Girl Scout year is happening now through June 30. Don't miss out on these Early Bird perks for troops, girls and adults. Troops get a $5 Cookie Credit for each troop member who registers by June 30 (both girls and adults), so if you have 10 members, that's $50 to start the year!

And don't forget about the Early Bird patch and Grand Prize Drawing!
One lucky Girl Scout registered by June 30 will win four tickets to a sold-out One Direction concert. Re-registering girls and adults now for the 2014-15 year will give you one less task to manage during back-to-school time.

Also, please submit your troop finance summary by June 30, with the details on how your troop decided to spend troop funds in 2014. An annual troop finance summary is required for your troop to remain in good standing, and you can fill out the form online.

Thank you to all those who've already submitted Early Bird registrations and finance summaries. Please do not hesitate to  contact your regional office for assistance or with any questions.

SUMMER CAMPS AND ACTIVITIES
More Options for Girls

The  2014 Summer Guide is packed with camps and activities that are sure to spark the interest of every girl. There are age-specific camps, day camps, week-long camps and even camps for the whole family. Summer camp helps girls develop leadership skills, a strong sense of self, positive values, team-building skills ... and don't forget the lifelong friendships! Here are just a few examples of our upcoming summer camps and activities across the state:

* Girl Power Day Camp at Camp Starwoods near Clearwater

* Dog Days of Summer at Camp Flying T in Syracuse

* Horse Tales at Blue Skies Miniature Horse Farm in Hays

* Family Outdoor Adventure Night at Lakewood Discovery Center in Salina

* Mystery at Midnight - Forensic Science Overnight in Emporia

STEMpact2020
Special partnership for GSKH

The City of Wichita is among seven cities selected to win the US2020 City Competition, a national competition encouraging STEM mentoring, and the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland is proud to be a STEMpact2020 partner!

This competition challenged cities to develop innovative models for dramatically increasing the number of STEM professionals who mentor and teach students through hands-on projects. US2020 specifically focuses on increasing STEM opportunities and STEM excitement for girls, underrepresented minorities, and children from low-income families. Public and private coalitions from 52 cities across the nation applied, and Wichita's coalition - which includes the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland - was selected. Click here for more details.
