The Willey Agency present, "A Flood Insurance Legislative Update and Chamber General Membership Luncheon" 12-1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Captain George's Seafood Restaurant, Kill Devil Hills

Goal of this program is to review the recent changes to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) as a result of the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform of 2012 (BW12) and the current Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act of 2014 (HFIAA).

Presenter will be Tammy Goodman. Goodman has over twenty years of experience in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) in all disciplines; system development, underwriting, technical, marketing, training, claims, and management. She has presented numerous continuing education seminars on behalf of IIABA state associations in her territory, and given many presentations regarding recent NFIP legislation to realtors, agents, trade associations, and communities. Tammy was recipient of Selective's Territory Manager of the Year in 2011, IIANC's Company Professional of the Year in 2012, and the Insurors of TN Presidential Citation in 2013.

Cost to attend is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members. Admission includes lunch and program.

The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, Outer Banks Community Foundation, Create the Future, and the Outer Banks Hospital  are pleased to present "LEADERSHIP OBX", a new program designed to develop community leaders for the future.

Leadership OBX provides leadership minded individuals with the opportunity to:

*Experience the community from public, business and individual perspectives.

*Develop interest in the future of the Outer Banks region.

*Create an environment to inspire community leadership.

*Broaden community viewpoints.

*Builds leadership skills.

*Builds working relationships among class members.

*Provides for personal growth and development.

*Establishing a sense of community and enthusiastic leadership are cornerstones of the program.

Attendees will participate in a welcome reception, overnight retreat and full day sessions once every week from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  The full tuition for the program is $500 which includes

all retreat and session expenses.  Two (2) Non-Profit scholarships are available and sponsored by the Outer Banks Community Foundation. Other partial scholarships will be determined based on program sponsorship.
