Hostos Community College Named One Of Top 10 Finalists For The 2015 ASPEN Prize For Community College Excellence
Eugenio Mar�a de Hostos Community College of The City University of New York (CUNY) was named as one of 10 finalists for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. This is the nation's preeminent recognition of high achievement and performance in America's community colleges. Hostos now enters the final stage of competition for the $1 million prize that will be awarded to the winner and up to four finalists-with-distinction in March 2015 in Washington, D.C. Making this recognition even more special is the fact that Hostos is the only community college in New York State to reach this point in the selection process.

Hostos Receives A $2.6 Million Title V Grant Award From The United States Department Of EducationEugenio Mar�a de Hostos Community College of The City University of New York has received a five-year, $2.6 million Title V grant award from the U.S. Department of Education to establish "ADELANTE," a program designed to reinvigorate, enhance, and accelerate progress through the developmental sequence, as well as enhance college credit courses and expand faculty development and research immersion.
Dr. Carmen Coballes-Vega, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Hostos, said the Title V award will greatly assist the College's mission to improve its retention and graduation rates, as well as facilitate students' successful transition to four-year colleges.

Carlos Beltr�n Establishes Scholarship At Hostos Community College
Eight-time Major League All Star, Carlos Beltr�n and Hostos Community College proudly announce the creation of the Carlos Beltr�n Scholarship. On September 6th, 2014, six Hostos Community College students were recognized at Yankee Stadium during a pre-game ceremony with Carlos and Jessica Beltr�n and Hostos Interim President Dr. David G�mez. These scholarships were awarded to three, full-time students with a 3.2 GPA or higher and three, full-time students with a 2.4 GPA or higher who also demonstrated financial need.Read more

The Hostos Center for the Arts Culture (HCAC) in partnership with the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) presents painter Ian Charles Scott's first solo exhibit in the Bronx, running September 15 through December 9 in the Main Gallery at the Longwood Art Gallery at Hostos Community College. Read more
