Inspired by her travels to the ancient city of Pompeii and the archaeological treasures of Crete and Indochina, Kate Steiger continues her exploration of the secrets of history and the passage of time. Her unique technique of "buried collage" creates a rich and intricate painterly surface which illuminates the designs of a weathered fresco, the patterns of a mosaic wall, the contours of a Grecian vase and the foliage of a forgotten garden.
