MSW HOSTS STUDENTS & PARENTS JULY 9th

The Health Care Forum of the Park Ridge Chamber is sponsoring an evening for all area students in 5th through 9th grades and their parents and/or grandparents on Wednesday, July 9th focusing on various topics affecting teens today.

The Youth Fair, titled "What Choices Will You Make?", will include talks, videos, and small group (divided by age) discussions for the young people on topics including bullying, digital use, and dealing with changes in life as they transition from elementary, into junior high, and then into high school.

The adult conversations will include bullying, what teens say about life as a teen today, and real stories from the ER.

The event will begin with pizza and music at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, July 9th and conclude at 8:30 PM.  Informative resource tables and raffles will support the presentations and panel discussions. The fair will take place at the Mary, Seat of Wisdom's Brian Barry Gym just off of Clifton.  All parishioners---and their friends and neighbors---are welcome to come and explore teen life today and help our youth make good choices.

Geri Balazs, MSW's CRUX Youth Minister, is on the Health Care Forum helping to lead this event and highly recommends it for children and adults. Our very own CRUX teen leaders will be involved in the panel discussions adding insights into how pre-teens and teens can make good choices.

Parishioner Teri Collins, Executive Director of Maine Community Youth Assistance Foundation, is also on the planning Committee for this event and will be sharing MCYAF resources.

The event is FREE and supported in kind by the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce Health Care Forum, Park Ridge Police Department, MCYAF, Park Ridge Youth Commission, and Presence Resurrection Medical Center.  Call 847-825-3121 to secure a seat.  T-shirts will be available to the first 25 youth registrants.
