It is with a sense of urgency we relay to you a call to all Christians in Australia to join together in Seven Days of Prayer & Fasting starting on Thursday 28 August 2014.

The call was made yesterday by the National Day of Prayer and Fasting team in response to several desperate situations in Australia and the Middle East. 

 

The Canberra Declaration looks to God to protect faith, freedom, family and life in Australia. That is why we are among the main proponents of the National Day of Prayer & Fasting and the 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting. 

 

Please take time to read through the URGENT Media Release with its prayer points below. Then make your response by committing yourself to this strategic time. 

 

We know that in the last days, as the return of Jesus draws nearer, Satan "is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short" (Revelation 12:12).

Let us cry out in prayer with fasting, as the Lord leads, asking for His intervention in Australia and the Middle East.

28 August - 3 September 2014

The National Day of Prayer & Fasting team, in cooperation with other National Prayer Ministries and Christian leaders, is calling for Seven Days of Prayer and Fasting from 28 August to 3 September 2014.  

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Blow the ram's horn trumpet in Zion! Declare a day of repentance, a holy fast day. Call a public meeting. Get everyone there. Consecrate the congregation. Make sure the elders come, but bring in the children, too, even the nursing babies, even men and women on their honeymoon - interrupt them and get them there. Between Sanctuary entrance and altar, let the priests, GOD's servants, weep tears of repentance. Let them intercede: "Have mercy, GOD, on your people! Don't abandon your heritage to contempt. Don't let the pagans take over and rule them and sneer, 'And so where is this God of theirs?'"

4 Point Prayer Plan

1. Pray for an explosion of the Gospel and a sovereign outpouring of the Holy Spirit, with an accompanying revival in the Church to bring transformation to our nation. Only a healed and unified Church can bring healing to a broken and divided community and nation.
    
2. Pray for the Christians in Iraq, Syria and the Middle East who are facing severe persecution for their faith. Pray for angelic protection and for the nations of the world to come to their aid.
    
3. Pray for protection of the definition of marriage between a man and a woman. Sexual radicals are campaigning for the Coalition government to abandon its election commitment to marriage. Protecting and supporting marriage and the natural family is the best way to protect our children. The issue of the redefinition of marriage, after the issue of abortion and the killing of the innocents, is the biggest social justice issue of our time.
    
4. Pray God will raise up men and women with the spirit of Elijah "to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers" (Malachi 4:6). Pray that this Father's Day, 7 September 2014, we will see a revolution and restoration of fatherhood in Australia.
