A Message from Candidate Rachel Jackson

Dear ATCA Members,

As you may know, I am running for Chair-Elect of the ATCA Board. This is a four-year term: two years as Chair-Elect and then two as Chair. For over 20 years - five on the ATCA Board - I have worked with Neil Planzer, our incoming Chair, and feel comfortable working with him, our President, Pete Dumont, and the ATCA professional staff. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve on the ATCA Board for the past five years and I hope you will continue to show your support by casting your vote for me today at www.surveymonkey.com/s/ATCAElection2014.

ATCA serves as a tremendous vehicle for education and advocacy for our industry. The association brings together operators, air navigation service providers, academia, advocacy groups, the military - all of whom have a common shared interest - to promote safety and the continued improvement of a system that is estimated to contribute $1.3 trillion in total economic activity in the U. S. alone and over $3.5 trillion globally.

I love aviation and am passionate about our industry. I've worked for the biggest and smallest companies in the ATC domain and have experienced first-hand the value ATCA brings to its members. I have been a very active member and have volunteered on a number of ATCA committees: the Awards Committee, Annual Conference Planning Committee, Chair of the Public  Relations Committee, Scholarship Committee, Executive Compensation Committee and the Nominating Committee. I have developed strong partnerships across the spectrum of government, industry, academia, systems operators, and labor organizations. These relationships have enabled me to understand and reflect the needs of these diverse groups in both my committee participation and Board position.

The next four years are critical to the air traffic control industry as we face challenges such as budget sequestration and broad pressures on our industry like UAS integration and NextGen implementation. No matter what our backgrounds are or the organizations we represent, we all work to benefit the operation and to serve the mission of safe and efficient aviation. Just as diversity in industry is important, diversity on the Board also enables us to think creatively and broadly represent all constituents.

I feel honored to have served you, the ATCA membership, and ask you again to vote for me to serve as your next Chair-Elect: www.surveymonkey.com/s/ATCAElection2014.

Very best regards,
Rachel Jackson
