10:00am - Worship  11:00am - Fellowship

Worship this week - August 24th

Dr. Carolyn Helsel's sermon is "Call the Midwives! The Story of Shiphrah and Puah" based on Exodus 1:8-2:10. This sermon lifts up another set of unlikely heroines, two women who bravely put their lives on the line to save the child who would free God's people from bondage.

Blessing of the Backpacks

Are you returning to school this fall? Is your child returning to school? Bring your backpack to worship! We will be blessing backpacks (and the students who will wear them) on Sunday!  Backpacks donated for kindergartners through the Framingham Resource Center are already on display, and on Sunday any backpacks belonging to students (young and old!) in our congregation can be brought forward to join those already up front. During worship, before the Time with Younger Church, Dr. Helsel will be blessing these backpacks and all those who will be returning to school this fall.

Auction Date and Request for Donations

Auction preparations have begun ... and you can help! On October 18th at 6:00pm, we will hold our Annual Live and Silent Auction to support the 2015 Mission Trip to the Philippines. PCIS adult and youth missions groups will engage in projects to help the Little Children of the Philippines, a program that PCIS has actively supported for many years. We are currently seeking auction items to offer (dinners, vacation homes, game tickets, gift certificates, etc.) Please contact Gail Hamel if you have questions.

LCP 2013

It's that time of the year when our hearts turn toward Christmas...

Well, maybe not quite yet...but it is time to collect Christmas items to send to our friends in the Philippines.

In addition to the gift suggestions listed on the flyers outside of Fellowship Hall or online here, there is a new need for food items for the preschools. We are being told that food is increasingly expensive, so things like peanut butter and pasta are specifically requested. You might also consider buying some cans of tuna fish to include with this shipment. In order to ensure that our gifts reach the Philippines in time for the holidays, the deadline for dropping off gifts is Sunday, September 14th after the first service. Sponsors can also leave presents to send to their children but we'd ask that you consider helping with the shipment costs which are $95/box (regardless of weight). Please see the poster in the lobby and the display in the Fellowship Hall for more details. If there are questions, contact Sally Millar. Thank you for your ongoing support of this important ministry!

Start-Up Sunday
September 7th

Join us as we kick-off a new year with food, fun, and fellowship. Sign-up online or in the lobby and let us know what food you can bring to the picnic.

Youth-Led Worship!

The Youth will be leading us in worship on September 7th, so come show your support and listen as they share with us about their mission trip experiences from this summer.

Got fun and games?

Do you have an idea for games/activities we can play indoors or outdoors? After worship and our picnic, we have reserved the field at Peter Noyes for fun...so bring your frisbee or soccer ball, your softball glove or any other ideas you have for fun and games.
