Be sure to sign up for the June 17th Equipment Demo and Social from 5 pm - 7 pm.  This is a great evening for learning about new equipment, socializing with your fellow EWGA members and doing a little shopping. Our Haggin Oaks LPGA Golf Pro will highlight some of the equipment and new technology that can especially benefit women. Afterwards, individual members who want to test a club can get a 10-minute overview in the fitting center (it's highly recommended you select your clubs ahead of time). Or, spend the rest of the evening socializing. Haggin Oaks is giving members a 10% discount in the Super Shop for the night only. And, we're leaving plenty of time to shop. Or, you can arrive early to do your shopping. Food and drink (translation: wine) will be plentiful. This is also a great opportunity to invite any friends who may have some interest in joining EWGA.  

Format for the evening:

   5-5:30 - Members arrive

   5:30-6 - Kris Monaghan talks about equipment

   6-7 - Fitting center appointments for those interested

On June 5, 2014, the EWGA Sacramento Chapter had the opportunity to play in a fun scramble and swing for a good cause.  The Third Annual Charity Golf Tournament held at Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course  was a success with a record number of registrants - 72 players.  The fundraiser is a collaborative effort of the Sacramento Valley Section - National Council of Negro Women, Inc. and theVision 2000 Educational Foundation.  Funds will be used to support their youth empowerment programs that help low achieving students from diverse backgrounds become academically successful.

With 19 women golfers, there ended up being several mixed teams and two women teams.  Our EWGA foursome - Fern Lukka, Kayleen Kott, Denise Delmatier Theisen and Zee Wong - came in second place, with Kayleen Kott hitting the longest drive on Hole #15.  EWGA was proud sponsor of Hole #11 and there was a lot of interest in the EWGA FAQ handouts.  This was new member Zee Wong's first event playing with other Sacramento Chapter members.   She had a blast as did her cart mate Fern - vowing to return again next year!  Although member Del Sayles-Owen was sidelined by a bad knee, she was on board to cheer our team on and capture a few pics - enjoy!

Do you want to get more involved in our chapter??  

We are looking for a few good women to work on the weekly eBlast ... this is a great way to get involved!!  The eBlast is our primary way of communicating with our members, so the editor has a crucial role!

You need to have several hours each week that you can spend on the eBlast (currently it is sent out on Fridays, but any date would be OK) ... though if more than one person is interested in working on it, you may not need that much time.  You need to be comfortable with the computer, and willing to learn the system that we use (Constant Contact).  It helps if you know some HTML, but that is NOT required.
