SWNI's Spring Cleanup event on May 10th rocked! 
 
The reuse area collected 3 truck loads of items for Community Warehouse and Habitat for Humanity, including 11 mattresses and lots of furniture in very good condition for families in need. Community Cycling Center collected 27 bikes for kids. Hillsdale Foundation collected 400 books. Volunteers assisted 42 seniors and disabled residents by picking up their items and bringing them to the cleanup site. Over 35 volunteers picked up litter along our major highways and gave special assistance to cleaning up a site near Rieke Elementary School.  Over 200 participants filled 13, 30-yard drop boxes with 23 tons of bulky waste and 4.9 tons of yard debris. In addition, 3.5 tons of scrap metal was collected.
