From phone calls and emails that we have received lately, it's apparent that planning for fall in the church is in full swing! This is the first of three messages from GenOn Ministries with helpful information to get you ready for LOGOS.

Equipping Volunteers

LOGOS Encounter

Let's back up a bit. Before equipping volunteers, they need to be identified and invited into specific roles. In GenOn language that means using the Call Process to match peoples' gifts, interests, energy, and availability with the ministry needs.

  • Pull up your LOGOS User Guide and read the section on Calling Persons to Ministry

None of us wants to fall into a recruiting mode with a desperate attempt to fill slots with any warm body. Faith development requires more than that. We want joy-filled servants teaching and leading in intergenerational ministry, right?

Once you're well on your way to getting your ministry team in place, it's time to train them so your people are equipped to nurture relationships as we study, play, worship, and eat together.

GenOn Ministries is now planning for October and November LOGOS Encounters--let us do the training for you! Give us a day and we will give you tools for great ministry.

We'll explore the three Key Practices of effective ministry: Christian Relationships, Balanced Ministry, Process of Call--and have a whole lot of fun! LOGOS Encounter training has never been more affordable or more convenient. Check out the details here and then give us a call. We need 8 weeks' notice from the time of signing a contract so now is the time to plan.

We LOVE to talk about customizing an Encounter for your context and community.

Plan for a Saturday that works for most!

Make it a Friday night/Saturday morning!

Hold it immediately following worship on a Sunday!

Choose flex time break-out sessions that are needed in your church for your volunteers.

Would you prefer to take your team away for training for more of a retreat experience? Consider the LOGOS Encounters already scheduled at other churches this fall. Find them here. We are also bringing a Key Practices training to Columbia Theological Seminary (Atlanta).

In our over 50 years of experience, GenOn Ministries knows that equipping your LOGOS staff for effective ministry makes all the difference. Churches tell us that too! How will you equip your folks this year to minister with the Katies, Juans, and Sylvias in your community?
