I am starting to become more active on Pinterest, and I am excited to share with you a board I recently created to help children gain a conceptual understanding of measurement concepts found in the Common Core State Standards.

Children are more likely to learn and remember common measurement units when they are able to form a strong association between the definition of the concepts and visuals that bring these ideas to life. I hope you enjoy the 12 pins I uploaded and find them useful.

In addition to my measurement board, I also have boards related to the Dream House Geometry Project my students completed this past spring and to the overall "Teaching the Whole Child" approach that guides my classroom practice.
