Global Hamilton communication conference for Internationally Trained Professionals (ITP)
 
hip one to use A key finding of Workforce Planning Hamilton's Hiring Immigrants in Hamilton report, released in May 2013, was that the main concern that employers expressed about hiring immigrants related to language and communication issues. In light of this and similar findings in our current labour market research WPH will be presenting Global Hamilton, a half day workplace communications conference for ITP in November 2014. Dire jobs prospects for youth can't be solved with education alone

One thing older Canadians don't envy about the young: their job prospects. A report released in early July by Statistics Canada highlights an unemployment rate for those aged 15 to 24 that's close to double that for the general public.

Overcoming Barriers: The mentorship initiative for foreign trained professionals

Akbar Durrani arrived in Canada with his family last year. Working as a lawyer for the Supreme Court in Pakistan for 21 years, Akbar believed that his extensive experience in Law and Human Rights advocacy would allow for an easy transition to the Canadian workforce.  A mentorship program is helping him get closer to his employment goals.
