Board of Directors Five Points

The 75th Annual Otero County Fair and Rodeo was August 13-16, 2014. Fun was had by kids of all ages at the many attractions at fair and rodeo, including the food and game booths at Frontier Village and carnival. The Alamogordo Chamber appreciates their partnership with the Fair Association in hosting a great event in our County.
The Alamogordo Chamber Ambassadors sponsor a Junior Ambassador program for high school aged students. The students volunteer at community events such as Zoo Boo, Easter in the Park and Relay for Life. Mayor Susie Galea and the City Commissioners acknowledged the Junior Ambassadors for their hard work and declared Tuesday, August 26, 2014 as Junior Ambassador Day.
Have you heard about the Junior Leadership Program? If you are a high school student in your junior year and looking for a career path, consider joining the 2015 Junior Leadership Otero Class. The Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce is offering a new program that will expose you to the behind the scene of several types of careers. Applications are being accepted
The Alamogordo Chamber hosted their 24th Annual Cottonwood Festival was August 29 - 31, 2014 in Alameda Park. It was a great success with live entertainment, food and craft vendors, carnival and special appearance from Governor Susana Martinez. We appreciate the community support and attendance!
The Alamogordo Chamber Ambassadors hosted their annual pancake breakfast during the Cottonwood Festival on Saturday and Sunday, August 30-31, 2014. What a great success! They served nearly 400 made-to-order eggs with pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice. Proceeds help benefit scholarships for the Junior Ambassador program. Thank you, Ambassadors!
