In your race packet, you will receive a Daybreak map and a punch card to fill-in as you tour the model homes in order to qualify for the gift card. (This is also something  your spectators can do durning the race).

Important Notes

Clydesdale/Athena: If you wish to race in the Clydesdale or Athena Divisions, please let us know at packet pickup. The requirements: males must weigh over 200 lbs and women over 150 lbs.

Relay Teams: The first team member to packet pickup will get your timing chip and bib number. Each member must come to packet pickup and sign a hardcopy waiver and pick up their shirt. The timing chip if your "baton" you will take it off and put it on your teammates INSIDE the transition area. If you have questions, we will be happy to answer them at packet pickup.

Aqua-Velo: If you registered for the Aqua-Velo race, you will only do the swim and the bike portions. When you finish the bike course, rack your bike in the transition area, you must cross the finish line.

Timing: Timing chips will be available race morning only. That way you don't have to worry about forgetting yours. They go around your ankle.

What to bring: If you are wondering what to pack, this is a helpful video.

Water Condition and Temp: We have tested the water and it looks good. The temperature is in the lower 60's.

Wetsuits: Wetsuits are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, not only because the water is chilly, but because a triathlon-specific wetsuit helps keep you afloat, it's safer.

Spectators: Your friends and family are more than welcome! There is plenty of room and plenty of fun stuff to do.

Swim Caps: will be provided.

Changing Distances: If you would like to change the distance you are racing just let us know at packet pickup, it's an easy change to make and we're happy to help. Changing to Olympic will be $10 charge, changing from Olympic to Sprint will not result in a refund.

Course Maps: We will not be providing printed copies of the course maps. Please print your own at home and bring it to packet pickup if you have questions or would like to get the lay of the land.


SWIM START INFORMATION
Individual Time Trial Start

We will be doing an individual time trial style start tomorrow.  

All Olympic Distance athletes should be ready to go at 8:00 am. The Sprint race starts at 8:30.

Elite racers will go first (there isn't an official Elite wave).  We will then go in order of youngest to oldest. We will keep the time trial start going regardless of age groups.  Each racer will have an individual start time. So be ready!  We get all the athletes in the water pretty quickly. 

Warm up?  You are welcome to get in the water prior to the start to warm up.

The Sprint race starts at a fishing doc. Racers will hold on to the dock until they are told to start (pictured above).  Again, this goes pretty fast so be ready.

The Olympic swim starts at East Lake Beach and is a shallow water start.

PACKET PICKUP
When and Where

Packet pick up will be on Friday June 6, 5-9pm in Daybreak - SoDa Row (shopping area South of the Lake) Next to (South of) Nest Boutique (11259 Kestrel Rise Road South Jordan, UT 84095).

If you would like to make a night of it, bring your friends and family and eat at one of the restaurants on SoDa row. There will also be live music.

Emergency Packet Pickup, Race Morning 6am - Near the Transition Area.

Standard USA Triathlon rules apply for packet pickup. All athletes must have a photo ID presented at registration. You will not be allowed to pick up your packet without a photo ID. USA Triathlon members must present your current USAT membership card at the time of packet pickup. Failure to bring your card will result in a single day $12 membership fee. Anyone racing who is not a USAT member will be required to pay the $12 single day membership fee. No exceptions. In order to ensure compliance with USAT rules and regulations, you may not pick up a packet or timing chip for another person. Packets will include a swim cap, bike number, bib number, t-shirt and other products from the race sponsors.


SLIGHT CHANGE TO THE RUN COURSE.
 
There is a little construction going on around the lake. There is a section of the trail that is fenced off and it diverts to a gravel path. Take the gravel path. The course will be marked.
 
Also, in an effort of shorten the run course, we will be running on the board walk section of the trail. It will be marked.

COME ON IN THE WATER'S FINE.

The water in Daybreak Lake is clean and about 61 degrees.  The Race Directors, South Jordan Fire Dept and a few lucky athletes tested the swim course a few days ago and everything looks great!  The point-to-point swim promises to challenging and fun!

Wetsuits are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

WHAT ABOUT THE SHIRTS AND MEDALS?
 

Every athlete will receive a high-quality tech shirt (white) featuring the 2014 Daybreak Tri design (right).  But that's not all... as you cross the finish line you will also receive a custom die-cast finisher medal!
