"Nurturing the Spiritual Sensitivity of Your Child"
Monday, Dec. 1, 10-11:30 am

Does your child have profound empathy to the point that he cries when he senses the pain of another person or living thing? Does your child have insights that make him seem like an “old soul?” Does your child feel overwhelmed by sights, sounds, textures, and smells? These are signs of a spiritually sensitive child. In this workshop, Dr. Paula Wilkes will explain what is meant by “spiritual sensitivity” and how it impacts the social and emotional lives of children. Parents will learn resources and strategies for nourishing the minds, hearts, and bodies of these exquisitely sensitive children. (For more information, read Dr. Wilkes's article on Spiritually Sensitive Children.)

Please join us! $25 per person per workshop. Pre-register to reserve your space!  Tickets will be available at the door.

Already held!  "Engaging in Essential Parent-Teacher Conversations"
Monday, Nov. 17, 10-11:30 am

Talk so your child's teachers will listen and listen so your child's teacher will talk! Participants will explore essential tools and behaviors that open lines of communication between teachers and parents.  Although teachers are educational experts, nothing replaces the holistic view of the parents. Open communication focuses on who your children are, what strengths and challenges they bring to the classroom, and how their capacities and gifts can be utilized to help them reach their potential. Join Melanie Prager, JD, CPE, parenting expert, and Paula Wilkes, Ph.D., gifted education specialist, as we focus on this impactful relationship in your child’s life….the one between you and the teacher.

Summit Center offers psychological and educational assessments and counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. Learn more at www.summitcenter.us.
