Another fine day of golf was had by all (including the ducklings and their Mama!). We had 28 ladies participating. The game was called "Birdie Bash." The person with the most net birdies was declared the winner. The winner with a total of nine net birdies was Karen Biscaha, who won a round of golf for two at Timber Creek, which the course graciously donated.
We were also having a qualifier for the PWGA team play. We had four teams trying to advance to represent EWGA in the PWGA event to be held at Morgan Creek on June 7th. The teams competing in the two-person better ball format were Marcia Whiting and Lori Lucius; Kris Corbridge and Patricia Ickes; Tillie Melton and Sharon Blume; and Pam Katros and Jeri Paik. The teams advancing will be Marcia and Lori and Pam and Jeri. Thanks again to all who participated!

Match Play League - First Round |
The first round of the Match Play league was played on Sunday April 13 at Bing Maloney.
This year we are playing the game a little differently: each 2-women team plays against another 2-women team in a net best ball match play game. Also each women plays a singles match against one of the women on the other team. The number of holes that each team won in their match is added to the number of holes won by each single player to give each team their final score. The team that won the most number of holes were the winners for the day.
|
Marcia (NOT one of the winners),
Laurie and Chao |
For the first round, the winners were Laurie Hochmuth and Chao Chen (who broke 90 for the second time in her golf career with a round of 87!!) with a total of 27 holes won.
| Patricia |
We also had a closest to the pin contest on Hole #13 which was won by Patricia Ickes - 3 feet 6.5 inches!
Congratulations to our winners!! But don't get too complacent, we'll get you next round!
The next round will be on Sunday, April 27th at Bartley Cavanaugh.

Come out and enjoy the experience of playing golf with our up and coming stars of tomorrow!
Check out this article about Brittany O'Bryant ... she played with us in last year's Swing for the Girls, and had her first hole in one that day!!
