MEM Student Spotlight

Carmelo Bottari

When he isn't busy playing his guitar at home, Carmelo is managing the engineering department at Kay Manufacturing. He graduated with two degrees --Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, from Northwestern University prior to becoming a student in the MEM program.

His favorite part about MEM are the opportunities to network with student professionals and professors. He mentions, "It's fascinating interacting with students and teachers from different engineering fields and experience levels and gaining diverse perspectives".

Carmelo sincerely enjoys the program, but he reminds future students that you get out of the program what you put into it. " This is a program that is meant to teach you how to teach yourself so that you can be more well-rounded in the engineering business world. It teaches you how to expand your creativity and your focus.  You don't learn "stuff."  You learn how to learn."
