Ready, Set, Learn
The LIR spring term 'kicked-off' with a great 'Sing in the New Year' luncheon catered by VSU's Chartwells catering service. The music was great and included an impromptu piano selection after the luncheon by Lois
Cunningham, age 98, mother of one of the singers, who taught elementary music for 39 years.
Classes began January 19, but there's still plenty of time to register.
The business meeting included the announcement of two changes that LIR is considering to help trim down expenses for the program:
(1)
LIR is considering changing to two semesters per year beginning Fall 2016.
( 2) Registration receipts will no longer be mailed
(except by special request)
, but will be held in the Continuing Ed Office for pick-up along with parking passes.
Visit our
website
for complete information about all of our learning opportunities.
If you want to volunteer, email Suzanne Ewing [email protected] or call 229-245-6484 for further information.

Express Yourself
Each of us is born with an innate ability to be able to
express ourselves. Don't think so? Just listen to the deafening cries of a newborn... "I'm hungry, I'm tired, I'm uncomfortable,
I'm cold, I need a diaper change."
But, we adults are complex beings and we must be able to adequately express ourselves in many ways in order to stay in tune with our world. Some deliver their thoughts more eloquently than others, and depending on their quest for learning, some communicate more intellectually than others.
Are you feeling left behind?
In our everyday work environment, we must be able to stay on top of the latest trends in technology, work on our creative abilities, be convincing as well as credible and be able to prepare reports and presentations so that our audience can grasp our ideas.
VUS Continuing Education has online courses that can help any of us as we seek ways to better to express ourselves.
All of our online courses are accessible at YOUR convenience, 24 /7.
Check out these
6-week instructor-led course selections that could be just what you need to help you gain confidence, get creative or learn a new way to express yourself:
