If you're someone that has a sweet tooth and often gets cravings, here are some tips on ways to get through it without derailing your plan for the day.

1. Drink water: Many times a glass of water will erase a craving.

2. Simply wait it out:  Studies have shown that if you wait fifteen to thirty minutes, the desire to eat junk will pass.

3. Get up and go for a walk.

4. Make a phone call.

5. Do something to keep yourself busy.

6. Brush your teeth:  There's nothing like clean teeth and fresh, minty breath to make junk food less appealing.

7.  Have a cup of peppermint tea.

If none of these work and you have to have something sweet, then eat something sweet.  Hold on-- don't get too excited!  First try having a piece of fruit.  Fruit is sweet and most times will help the craving go away.

If you tried a piece of fruit and you're still dying for something sweet, eat something you want because you don't want to feel deprived.  Deprivation will only leave to binging behaviors once you get yours hands on the food you are really craving.  Just make sure that when you do have something sweet you keep the portion controlled.

 Thank you for the opportunity!
