Make the most of your school vacation week. Plan a day trip to Dover for fun at the Museum, playtime in the park right outside, shopping on Central Avenue, and lunch or treats within walking distance. Dover has everything from organic wraps and smoothies to pizza, sushi, frozen yogurt, ice cream and more, all within walking distance. Check out all the menus at our front desk.

ALZHEIMER'S CAFE MEETS TODAY
*Alzheimer's Cafe* *Thursday, April 17* *2-4 pm* People diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's Disease, along with their family members or care partners, are invited to the museum for an afternoon or socializing and refreshments. No reservations are necessary and the program is free. The Cafe is geared toward individuals who are still living at home with assistance.

Make It or Break It Club

Friday, April 18

(no club on 4/25)

Drop in anytime from 3:00 - 4:45 pm

Ages 6-12

This cool program lets kids flex their creative muscle as they make or break things using real tools and cool materials in an open studio setting.

There are four different stations to explore: construction, toolbox, fiber and electronics. There will also be a new special project or material at each session.

Cost: $8 per session for museum members, $10 per session for non-members. Discount cards are available for multiple visits: $30/4 visits for members, $35/4 visits/non-members. This is a drop-off program but parents are also welcome to stay and work with their child.

RoboPalooza!

Saturday, April 19

11 am - 3 pm

The robots are coming! The Children's Museum of NH is hosting a gathering of robots and robotics teams for live demonstrations, information and friendly conversation with budding engineers. Meet the FIRST Robotics team members from Dover and Durham, as well as the UNH LunaCats team, whose lunar rover robot competes in a NASA competition. This is a great opportunity to get first-hand information about robotics activities for kids in NH.

All activities are included with regular paid admission and free for members. No reservations required.

Join us for our annual Earth Day Celebration sponsored by DF Richard Energy. Our educators have planned a full slate of workshops and demonstrations inside the museum for the whole family!

10 am - noon: Roots Exploration with Norm Fracassa of Fracassa DesignWorks. Find out what's happening under the soil!

10 am - 1 pm: Bird Feed Making with members of Strafford Rivers Conservancy.

10:30 am: Learn about Beavers with museum educators.

11 am - 2 pm: Make Suncatchers with our friends from ReVision Energy.

11 am - 2 pm: Plant a Marigold to take home with the garden pro's from Wentworth Greenhouses.

11:30 am: Make a Caddisfly Case with museum educators.

12:30 pm: Watershed Demonstration by museum educators.

1:30 pm: Learn About NH Animal Sounds with museum educators

2:30 pm: Explore Owl Pellets with museum educators.

Visitors can also participate in a Green Scavenger Hunt around the museum and make Upcycled Creations from recycled materials.

All Earth Day activities are included in regular paid admission and FREE for museum members. No reservations required.

BOOK LAUNCH EVENT for WILD ABOUT BEARS

Meet author & illustrator Jeannie Brett with her new book, Wild About Bears

York, Maine writer and illustrator Jeannie Brett will debut her newest book at the Children's Museum of NH, and will be bringing some special activities along that are all about bears. Her new Wild About Bears book introduces children to all kinds of bears with fantastic illustrations and factual information. Jeannie will also have bear masks for kids to make and take home, and a friendly costumed bear will make appearances for hi-fives and hugs. Copies of the book will be for sale if you'd like to have one signed!

This event is included with regular paid admission and free for museum members.

Children's Museum of NH Annual 5K Road Race & Kids' Fun Run

Saturday, May 3

5K Race: 9 am

Fun Run: 10:30 am

fundraiser! The 5K race begins and ends on Henry Law Ave alongside the Museum, and the Fun Run Races for kids take place in the big field behind the Museum and Public Pool. There are races for kids from ages 3-12, and every child participant will get a blue ribbon and goodie bag. There will also be great refreshments for all, post-race massages for runners, animal activities with the NHSPCA, face painting, music and more!
