Welcome!

Has everyone had their fill of snow yet?  It was just a week ago that all I heard was, "We sure do need some snow", "I wish we'd get some snow", and "Where's all the snow?"

Now it's, "I'm sure tired of all this snow!"

The point is:  be careful what you wish for.

 On Another Note

All the news and talk and controversy swirling around for the last 6 months has centered on ObamaCare.

Guess what?  It's not going away anytime soon.  But there is a point to this also.

Life goes on.  Our family just went through a major surgery.  All went well.  The staff at St. Charles was excellent.  Our insurance is going to pay their share, we are going to pay our share.  All went off just as planned.

Amid all the problems, all the reasons we need ObamaCare, all the reasons we don't need ObamaCare, our health care service continued flawlessly.

Life goes on.

Have a great month, and be careful what you wish for!

Auto Body Shops and Car Insurance

There was an article in the January 15th issue of the "Cascade Business News" titled, "What Auto Body Shop Owners Can Tell You About Car Insurance".

Of course I had to read it.  The author's point, Ron Reichen from Precision Auto Body and Paint, was that body shops have a unique insight into how insurers deal with claims and where their priorities lie.

Ron refrerred to a recent report of the Northwest Auto Trades Association, the 2013 NATA insurer report card.  The four companies rated highest by auto body shops are:

1     State Farm

2     Oregon Mutual

3     Mutual of Enumclaw

4     Travelers

As an independent insurance agency, we have the ability to seek out insurance companies with which we wish to do business on behalf of our customers.  State Farm is what is referred to as a "direct writer", in other words, you can only buy a State Farm policy from a captive State Farm agent.  But the next three all participate in the independent agency system.  And guess what?

We represent all of them!  Thats right!

We have additional companies also, (SAFECO, Cincinnati, Foremost, and Progressive are the larger ones), but to have all three of the top performing available conpanies makes me feel good about our ability to serve our customers.

And to us, that's what it's all about.

Employee Spotlight

This month we are featuring Nate Chesbro, one of our Personal Lines Customer Service team members.

Nate and his wife moved to Bend in 2005 after growing up in Eugene and moving to Portland for several years.  He enjoys hiking the area trails with his wife and dogs, cross country skiing, snowboarding, golf and tennis and moved to the area to be able to enjoy the outdoors.

Every year Nate's family takes a trip for Thanksgiving week and this year they traveled to Santa Cruz, CA.  While there Nate tried scuba diving for the first time since he was 18 years old off the Monterey Peninsula.  He also got to play some golf while down there and rode the rollercoasters at the boardwalk.

Nate has worked in the insurance industry since early 2009 and has been with Cascade Insurance since June of 2012, working as a customer service agent.

"CASCADE CASH" Referral Program

Refer someone to Cascade Insurance Center and get something back! For every referral you get:

  • $5 dollars in cash, PLUS a $5 match to Grandma's House!  What qualifies as a referral?  A referral is when we get a call for a quote from someone saying you referred them to us.
  • There's more!  You will also be entered into our monthly and annual drawings for prizes.  Each month we draw for a $50 VISA gift card.  Everyone who referred someone to us that month is eligible.  We'll announce who won in our monthly newsletter, sent by email.
  • For our annual drawing, each referral you've given through the year equals one entry for our drawing the first week of December, 2014, for a chance to win the Grand Prize!
That's it. The person you refer doesn't have to purchase a policy from us if we're not competitive for your referral to count. Give it a try.  Our referral program is open to anyone, whether they're a client or not.
