The long, hot days of summer are winding down and soon we will be back into the full swing of the routines to which we are accustomed. Judi and I have had a great summer and enjoyed some exceptional travel both in and out of the USA. We are excited to exchange notes with all our clients regarding their travels or "staycations". Moving forward into fall, we hope to see all of your faces at Workout 32789 as together we set (or reset) our fitness goals. Remember in the words of the not-so-trim Ceelo Green, "You're only as strong as your next move." Now, if someone could just get him to apply that attitude toward his own body...

End-of-Summer 
Class Schedule  

To help everyone get back into their normal routine and back on schedule, we will be using a 6-week class structure starting in August. You can choose the Wednesday class, Friday class, or both. For $120, you will receive 6 weeks of classes for the day that you choose. Also, to make sure that you get every penny's worth, we are offering a 'mulligan'. If you miss 1 class, that class can be made up on a Saturday during those 6 weeks at our 8am H.I.I.T class.

Did you miss out on July's contest?! Don't worry, we are doing one for August as well!

Take a picture of yourself wearing any "Workout 32789 T-Shirt" during the month of AUGUST, while doing your favorite activity in or out of town (hiking, fishing, running, biking, stretching, yoga, even lounging, because recovery is part of the program!)

"I'm not where I would like to be as the person representing 32789 or you Judi, but I will be the spokesperson for those of us that have fallen off our routines because of summer or other reasons. My message is, don't be defeated by a few extra pounds or time off from your excercise routine. Don't give up. Get revved up!"

What's the biggest change you have noticed physically or mentally since you started training at Workout 32789? 

The biggest change I have noticed since training at 32789 is being physical promotes happiness and well being. I leave the gym feeling energized and stronger in body and mind.


What's your favorite part of working out?

My favorite part of working out is that I continue to be challenged every time I workout...EVERY TIME. The routines are never the same. That is why it is challenging. Boredom does not set in. The trainers stay focused and involved. They are ON. You leave feeling good about yourself. You accomplish something new each time. 


When did you realize it was time to make a change in your life?
 

I realized it was time to make a change in my life when I dropped out of a previously fit life at age 60 because of moving to a new house. I did not work out for two months. I felt like I WAS 60 with stiffness and sluggishness. I realized how important exercising is to one's complete well being and vitality.


What did you hope to accomplish since you started training at Workout 32789? 

I hoped that through training at 32789 I would gain more strength, endurance, improve my balance and be fit enough to do all the active things I enjoying doing in life. Use it or lose it are wise words to live by. Thanks 32789 for recognizing and encouraging good health in both body and mind.

Cross Out Cancer Circuit Breaker Challenge
Please Save the Date for a Special Circuit Breaker Challenge on September 27th, in remembrance of Alan Saffran. 100% of the proceeds will be going towards Cross Out Cancer, an organization to combat cancer established my his daughter, Ella.
 
Our Community Garden
Right around the corner from Workout 32789 is a little community garden area. Who would have known?!? We purchased a plot box to share with you, our clients!

 
We started working on our special garden this week, and the weeding process is already complete. We are super excited to start growing and planting yummy fruits & veggies for our Workout 32789 family. We cannot start seeding until September, but when the time comes we will let you know. We want YOUR help & input with this special project. 
Free Foam Roller Class
Want to work out all those tight sports and sore muscles? Are you curious about the proper techniques for using the 
foam rollers?
 
 On Wednesday, September 10th at 11:00 am, Chris will teach a "Foam Roll Release" class right here at our Workout 32789 studio. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone who is interested in learning how to properly use the foam rollers & would like to work out all of their kinks in their body.

Recipe of the Month
Summer Snack
4-Ingredient Blueberry Frozen Yogurt

Ingredients

2 cups (280g) Frozen Blueberries
1/3 cup (76g) Non-fat Plain Greek Yogurt
1 tablespoon Honey
1/2 tablespoon Lemon Juice

Directions

Place all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and mix until smooth. If you want the frozen yogurt to taste more like a sorbet, add a tiny bit more lemon juice.

Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes:
  • If you want the frozen yogurt to taste more like a sorbet, add a tiny bit more lemon juice.

  • If you want the frozen yogurt to be a bit more solid before serving, freeze it for 20 minutes and check to see if it's the consistency that you want. 

  • If it needs some more time in the freezer, stir and check it again in 10 minutes.
