It's February, so that means my poor kids have to help me bottle a few thousand gallons of wine.  Old people like me say they are building character.  Back when I was their age I was trying to learn how to irrigate with a siphon tube.  Luckily, Dad bought irrigation pipe when it was obvious I was of no help. 
February also means that I have to get the motivation to see if my vineyard is still there.  I left it at the end of harvest and have not been back in it.  It looks like from the road that it has not picked up and left.  Once we get some weather to break we need to start pruning.  

Finally February means that all the love birds will be going out for Valentine's Day.  As I write this Kristen has not started the rest of the newsletter but I am going to assume somewhere on the side or below these notes there will be details about the 13th and 14th. (To the left!  krhr)  Like I said last month we don't have that many seats for 2 so if you have friends that you like, please invite them as well so we can accommodate as many as possible.  I anticipate being sold of space well before that weekend.  

I will leave it at that.  You will have to bear with me next month as I think I have to do a little bragging on my kiddos.

Feb 5th:  Hoisin Orange Glazed Pork Tenderloin
Pork Tenderloin, Rice Pilaf, Salad, Bread & Dessert.

Feb 6th:  Italian Night!
Fayne will be featuring Sausage Lasagna, Cheese & Spinach Ravioli in a Pesto Cream Sauce, Prairie Creek Salad, Bread, & Dessert. 

Feb 12th:  Greek Lemon Chicken
To kick off Valentine's Day weekend Fayne will be featuring Greek lemon chicken, with orzo pasta, Greek salad, pita bread with hummus, & Italian creme cake cupcakes.

Feb 19th:  Smoked Salmon & Pork Loin
Smokin' Dan will be serving his famous smoked salmon & pork loin with generous sides and homemade dessert. 

Feb 20th:  Smoked Beef Brisket
Mmmmm.  Bring your friends.  It's amazing.

You know...if you missed it last week.

Feb 27th:  Rib Night!
Round out a fantastic January with Dan's BBQ.  He'll be serving pecan smoked baby back ribs, an extensive number of side dishes, and dessert.  It's killer.
We kind of love Courtney Quackenbush and here's why:
  • she skydives
  • she's VP of Education for her local Toastmasters
  • She plays the cello (nuf said)
  • She's one of Grand Island's 35 under 35 for 2016!
  • Doesn't need a witching rod to find water.  Can use a club and a ball.
  • Has traveled extensively internationally and has studied abroad in Granada, Spain
  • She currently is the technology coordinator at Doane College in Grand Island
  •  She's badass
  • She has a BS in Computer Information Systems and Spanish
  • She has a Masters degree in Managment
  • Ask her about the camel ride in the Sahara!
  • She's strong
  • She's tough
  • She's smart
  • She's interesting
  • She works at Prairie Creek (bonus points)
  • She's great!
We hope that you can get to know her and appreciate her as much as we do.
