Identity theft is a growing national concern and shredding sensitive documents is one way to reduce the risk of becoming an identity theft victim.

 

Clean out your file cabinets and shred your old documents for  

free at the Shred-It Day in the library parking lot.  

 

This is your opportunity to safely dispose of bank statements that  

are no longer needed for tax returns or other financial records,  

old cancelled checks, credit card statements or medical records -  

anything you no longer want to keep.

Supper Book Club - Carried Away: A Selection of Stories

Book:  Carried Away: A Selection of  Stories by Alice Munro (2006).                                                                        

Munro won the Noble Peace Prize for Literature in 2013.

Every month food is ordered from a local restaurant, to be delivered to the library at 5:30 pm, the day of the meeting.  If possible, the food will relate thematically to the book. Or not!  The menu is available at the Circulation Desk.   Participants select and pay for their menu items before the meeting. Please leave your money at the Circulation Desk by 1:30 pm on the day of the book club meeting for that month.

 

**Please feel free to bring your own supper. Coffee, tea, water and juice are provided by the library.

 

 

            
Grant Seeking for Individuals

Did you know that the library has access to information on 100,000 grantmakers and 2.3 million grants?  Grant funds for individual endeavors such as education, research and  business pursuits are not that easy to find.   

Attend this class to learn about the Foundation Grants to  

Individuals database, GrantSpace.org and other helpful resources.  

A working knowledge of the Internet and Windows are needed  

for this hands-on session.  

Space is limited to 10 people and preregistration is required.

Titanic Remembrance Day

Remember the Titanic, which sank on this day in 1912. Check out stories and books about the supposedly "unsinkable" ship that sent 1,522 passengers and crew to their deaths in the icy Atlantic waters.

  

Stop, Drop and Read Story Time

Stop whatever you're doing, Drop into the library, and Read some stories with play time friends! We will read seasonal books, do a coloring page and have relaxed, informal play

Pig Out on Reading with Farmer Minor and Daisy

Daisy loves to read and be read to! Come hear some pig tales and farm stories with Daisy and Farmer Minor. We will present Daisy with her very own card from the Public Library of New London! Free, fun for all ages and no registration required.

 

 

 

 

  


Teddy Bear Sleepover and Breakfast    
Wednesday, April 16 & Thursday, April 17

 

Bring your favorite Teddy Bear or Stuffed Animal to the spend the night at the library! Drop your cuddly friend off between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Wednesday. We will take excellent care of him or her- no worries! Then return Thursday morning at 10:30 am for breakfast to find out about all the fun things that happened during the night.  

You can even check up on your friend on our Facebook page during the night.  

Free and no registration required.


Drumming Workshop with Professor Baldwin  
Wednesday, April 16
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Learn the basic rhythms of percussion with the fabulous Dwight Baldwin! Kids of all ages are invited to drop in on the drum circle in the Community Room. This program will run for 6 weeks, and you are not required to attend every week. No registration is required.
