This holiday season has been a good one for JFON!
We continue to serve the underserved, low-income individuals and families of our communities through the immigration legal services we provide at low and no-cost. And we continue to enrich the communities of North and Central Texas through education and advocacy for our citizens and residents. We are very proud of the work we do to serve those on the margins of our society!
The holiday season was also good in terms of our fundraising! JFON received its first three significantly-sized grants, one each from the Texas Bar Association for
$ 10,000, Texas Methodist Foundation for $ 13,167, and the National Justice For Our Neighbors for $ 10,000. In addition, we met our goal of $ 10,000 in individual gifts that were matched dollar-for-dollar, and Genesis UMC in Fort Worth, where we opened our newest clinic this year, gave us a grant for $ 1,555 as well! We have been richly blessed!
With these generous gifts in hand, we are poised to balance our budget for 2015-16 with another gain or two like them. And to help move us forward in this regard, National JFON has established another $ 10,000 matching grant for individual gifts, beginning in January this year!
So, if you sent a gift in December to get it matched ... You can do it now as well! You can do so securely through our website at www.jfondfw.org/donate.
I always keep in mind that what we do is about the people we serve and not the money we raise ... But the money we raise enables us to serve these deserving folks in powerful ways.
So, thanks to every person and every institution who support our ongoing work to welcome our neighbors in life-changing ways! Keep us in your prayers, and we will continue to faithfully enrich lives on your behalf.
I hope your new year is proving to be a blessed one ... Thanks for enabling us to bless others because of your generosity!
Sincerely,
Dean Reed, Executive Director
