Who are we?
The Southington Education Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation organized under Connecticut state law with tax exempt status under Section 501(c)(3). The Board of Directors is comprised of nine (9) community members; the Superintendent of the Southington Schools serves as an Ex-officio director with all powers and privileges as a director with the exception of voting rights. The members of the Board-at-Large agree to contribute time to further the charitable and educational purposes of the Foundation. What are the Directors doing?
This summer and fall the directors are actively procuring corporate sponsorships for October's Fan of the Foundation Gala. If you are aware of any businesses or individuals who might be interested in becoming a sponsor please contact our sponsorship coordinator: Bethany Pestillo ([email protected]). Or drop a note to Jan Galati ([email protected]). Sponsorships provide the bulk of our funding. We welcome your input.

How are the Gala Co-Chairmen faring?
Stephen Proffitt and Michelle Le-Brun Griffin have been busy this spring doing long-term planning. They held the first Gala committee meeting in late June and now they are actively coordinating the procurement of silent and live auction items. If you have an item or a service you would like to provide please contact Steve ([email protected]). If you plan on dropping off an item please contact Donna (860-621-6564).
Spotlight on a new volunteer
Robin Taillie is SEF's newly appointed database manager. Robin worked for many years in private educational settings where there was a need to oversee fundraising and coordinate donations. Robin has been busy personalizing the constituency relationship database for the Foundation. The SEF Executive Board is delighted to have her volunteer services. Thank you, Robin!
