New AALAS Webinar: Register Now
The Animal Research Regulatory Short Course Webinar will provide an overview of the basic concepts and key points from the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, the Animal Welfare Act and Regulations, and the PHS Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.

The presenter will focus on the highlights from each mandate that are the most relevant to the typical laboratory animal facility. Elements that are common to all the mandates will be discussed, as well as the vital differences between them. There will be a question and answer period at the end, and a PDF of the slides is included in the price of registration. The webinar will last approximately 90 minutes. 

Who should attend? Individuals who are new in their position as IACUC members and coordinators and compliance staff. This information is also relevant for veterinarians, managers, supervisors, and senior-level animal technicians.

LAS Pro Workshop 
Attendees at the 65th AALAS National Meeting in San Antonio have a special opportunity to attend a free workshop designed to help potential authors create, edit, and submit articles to LAS Pro. Meet with members of the Editorial Advisory Board and AALAS staff. 

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Attendees can bring a draft of an article, notes, or even just an idea. Sign up via the Workshop Registration form in the Preliminary Program or register online.

2015 ILAM Scholarships 
Deadlines have been extended! Make plans to apply for the 2015 ILAM scholarship opportunities. These scholarships are offered to help defray the cost of attending the Institute for Laboratory Animal Management. Both the ILAM Ancare and LAMA scholarship applications are due September 1.  
 
ALL News: RACE CEs Approved
RACE CEs are now available for veterinarians and veterinary technicians on the AALAS Learning Library (ALL)

The Amercian Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) has granted Registry of Approved Continuing Ecuation (RACE) CEs for 12 courses in the ALL, offering a total of 15 CEs accepted by AAVSB for these courses. Visit the ALL for complete details.

Technician Lunch and Learn Registration
Are you a technician attending the National Meeting in San Antonio? If so, here is a great opportunity. Hosted by CTAD and sponsored by Purina Mills, Inc., the Technician Lunch and Learn is on Monday, October 20, from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. This is an excellent way to enjoy a complimentary lunch and hear educational talks on lab animal science. Seats are limited so register soon.
