Dear friend of Hackensack Riverkeeper,

I hope this email finds you well and at least as glad as I am that winter is finally over. Bring on the springtime birding! Speaking of...

Literally one month from today, your Hackensack RiverCreepers will take to the field (and wetlands, woods, neighborhoods and more) of our watershed region during NJ Audubon's 31st annual World Series of Birding (WSB). You're receiving this email because you are a friend, supporter, volunteer (or all three) of Hackensack Riverkeeper. You know what we do and why we do it: we work for clean water, protected wildlife habitats and your right to access them all. The WSB is one way that we can both illustrate that work and raise funds to accomplish it.

Here's how it goes: At 4AM on May 10, my team mates Kerul Kassel, Dave Kaplan, Ray Duffy and I will start out on our annual 17-18 hour mission to list as many bird species as we can and - with your help - raise as much money as we can to support the ongoing work of Hackensack Riverkeeper. If things go as they have for the past few years, we'll most likely start with an American Robin and end with a Barn Owl. For sure, a lot of folks just like you are the most important members of the team (and you don't even have to leave the house). :)

So I respectfully ask for your help. Your making a per-species pledge or earmarked donation to support our WSB efforts will go a long way toward making the day a success and keeping Hackensack Riverkeeper effective and on the job.

To make a pledge, just hit <Reply> and tell me how much you want to pledge per species. Please include your mailing address so I can send you a thank-you letter and SASE for your donation after the crazy day is done and I've gotten some sleep.

To make a WSB-earmarked donation with a credit card, just Click Here and it's right there at the top. I'll send you a copy of the results and an acknowledgement letter after the big day.
Thank you for being part of our Riverkeeper crew; and I hope to see you at the river real soon.

Yours in conservation,

Hughie
