School board recognizes
successes of CES PTVO
A very active Parent-Teacher-Volunteer Organization at Carrollton Elementary School topped $10,000 in the popular Jingle Bell Jog fundraiser held in December and was recognized at the Carrollton Board of Education meeting Jan. 12 for the effort.

At the meeting, CES Principal Karen Wild presented key contributors and praised the organization for always doing whatever could be done to support the school, especially the leadership of PTVO President Lindsay Jennings, who was unable to attend the meeting.

"Our PTVO is exceptional and always seeks ways to improve the CES experience," said Wild. "We are blessed to have such dedicated parents and volunteers."

Yearbook art contest winners

Congratulations to these three CES students for their wonderful yearbook artwork. Luke Zimmer won first place and his design will be on the cover of this year's yearbook! Lilli Colquitt, left, and Kaylie Prater, right, were runners-up! All kids won Target gift cards. A huge thank you goes to our PTVO for organizing the contest and prizes!

School breakfast shown
to boost academic effort

With a new year comes new resolutions - and for our students, eating a good breakfast should be one of them.

Research has shown that eating breakfast in the morning makes a significant impact on academic achievement. Our School Nutrition program has worked hard to build a quality breakfast program that offers variety, flexibility and is highly affordable for all students.

Breakfast meals only cost $1 at Carrollton Elementary and Carrollton Middle School. School breakfast is only a dime more ($1.10) at Carrollton Junior High and Carrollton High School. Learn more.
