A world-renowned healthcare company awarded University at Buffalo associate professor and chief scientist Jun Qu, PhD with a two-year, $280,000 post- doctoral research fellowship grant to continue pioneering protein drug analysis research using advanced liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LCMS) technology.
Qu lab's worldly research reputation and academic publication in prestigious journals have attracted the attention of this company and others to partner with the Protein and Bioanalysis Core (PBC) and form industry collaborations.
Qu leads the PBC at the New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences (CBLS). The PBC is aligned closely with the UB's Center for Protein Therapeutics, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

UB Center for Advanced Technology (CAT) RFP Opens January 21
Is your business working on a new project or service that could benefit from funding and technology resources?
The University at Buffalo Center for Advanced Biomedical and Bioengineering Technology (UB CAT) program will open its annual request for proposals (RFP) on January 21st to provide hard-to-find support, including critical funding for R&D projects. We invite you to apply for support from the UB CAT.
New and established companies of all sizes who wish to accelerate development or improvement of a biomedical product or service - from devices, diagnostics, and software to drugs and supply chain offerings - are encouraged to apply by the April 1st deadline.

The Strategic Partnership for Industrial Resurgence (SPIR) grant makes it easier for businesses in New York to keep up by providing technical assistance from UB's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. SPIR subsidizes projects that take innovations to the next level by introducing new technologies and materials, and providing product design and testing.
