THE LEAD STORY:
Feeling the Love from
Knead Bakeshop

JASMYN was treated like a real sweetheart by Knead Bakeshop in January. The Edgewood Avenue restaurant and bakery hosted their first cookie fundraiser to help JASMYN raise funds for some of the renovations of our new building.

For six days last month, Knead sold these delicious rosemary shortbread cookies, with filled hearts of housemade lemon jelly and brushed with lemon glaze. Cookies were also sold at both locations of Bold Bean Coffee and Rain Dogs.

One hundred percent of cookie sales that week were donated to JASMYN - a total of $1,006!

Knead owner and operations manager, Adam Burnett, has a personal connection to JASMYN. "While I wasn't a regular at JASMYN, I did attend several group meetings there with friends while I was in high school and it was a great experience!  That was part of my motivation to want to help. The support groups helped me and it's great to be able to give back."

Many thanks to Adam and everyone who bought a cookie! You're really helping to "Warm our House."

Bank of America Volunteers
Help With Work on JASMYN 2

JASMYN has always been blessed with wonderful supporters and volunteers. And the renovation project of our new building inspired many groups to come lend a hand.

The Bank of America LGBT Employee Network and Ally Program really stands out as a group completely committed to the project. They were there at the very beginning, playing a key role in emptying out the house, doing a lot of heavy lifting and dirty work.

And, as we approach the unveiling of this new space that is allowing us expand our capacity to serve our LGBTQ youth with greater access to clinical care, case management services, HIV counseling and testing and more, the Bank of America volunteers were there again, helping to finish what they started. They painted, helped clean, polish, clean windows and add some of the final touches to JASMYN 2 as we ready the building for the "Warm the House" party.

Thank you for everything, Bank of America volunteers. We greatly appreciate your hard work and we couldn't have done it without you!
