December 2015                                                                                                                                         Issue #112
Hello Neighbor,

I wish each of you could spend a day at Neighbors 4 Neighbors to see  what a kind and generous community we have.  True, we hear from many  who are in very difficult, and sometimes desperate, circumstances,  but thanks to our many nonprofit partners, and people like you,  we are often able to help.

This holiday season, we wish you joy in whatever way you celebrate,  and the privilege of sharing it with others.  Many of you have Adopted  Families for the Holidays, and seem as excited as the families.

Thank you,  from all of us at Neighbors 4 Neighbors

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better.  It's not".

Sincerely,

Lynne Cameron

ADOPT A FAMILY 4 THE HOLIDAYS

Take a look at what our Neighbors are doing this year!

We kicked off our Holidays with a Thanksgiving Luncheon hosted by our very dear friends at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood.
They laid out a full Thanksgiving spread for over 300 people,
all families from the Broward County School HEART Program.

Santa was on hand and so were the fantastic players from the
South Florida Gold ABA Basketball team.
Everyone had a wonderful time.

You can Adopt A Family 4 The Holidays, just like one of those at this
luncheon,  by going to www.aaf.neighbors4neighbors.org
pick a family near you and make some holiday dreams come true.

The deadline to pick a family is Dec.16th.
We are happy to report that the families are being adopted
every second, so don't delay, pick your family today.

Don't have the time to Adopt, please consider making a donation:

Neighbors 4 Neighbors is a 501©3 nonprofit organization, and your contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law. From our Partners at Baptist Health South Florida:
Tips for Avoiding Holiday Weight Gain

Let the holiday celebrations begin! Thanksgiving officially marks the beginning of the holiday eating season.  Tasty food and drinks at family get-togethers, office gatherings and holiday celebrations over the next six weeks are sure to delight the taste buds and likely to be bountiful.
With so many delicious choices around to tempt even the most mindful eaters,
is it possible to avoid gaining weight?
"The good news is the average weight gain over the holidays is one to three pounds," says Cathy Clark-Reyes, a registered dietician with Baptist Health Primary Care. "But those pounds are often hard to lose. Having a plan and sticking to it can help keep you from gaining the weight."

Every donation you make is processed by our heros at Berkowitz Pollack Brant. We can't thank them enough for their support this year.  Together we are able to make a greater impact in the community.

Neighbors 4 Neighbors is a non-profit organization 501 (c) 3 originally created by CBS4 in 1992 in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. As South Florida recovered, CBS4 made a commitment to make Neighbors an integral part of its community service program.  Using the power of television to reach people who want to help and by forging relationships with important community and business leaders, Neighbors has evolved into a valuable resource for individuals and families in our community facing critical needs.
