Ad-Council Message & Survey
What a year it has been at Hennepin Church!  We said good-bye to our interim pastor, Kent Millard, and welcomed our new Senior Pastor Judy Zabel.  We have seen successful new events such as Art Reach, Trunk or Treat, and Great Weekend of Service.  Perhaps our best news of all is Hennepin will end this year with net growth in membership for the first time in many years!    Another change this year was the changed time of our worship services.  When that change was announced, the Administrative Council made a commitment to the congregation that we would evaluate the impact of that change after one year.  Now is the time for that evaluation.  Please let us know how the change in worship times is affecting you and your family by following the link below or by completing a survey at the reception desk in Carlson Hall.

The Administrative Council is dedicated to listening to you and continually learning how we can grow together as a community of faith.  All feedback will be shared at the Council's annual retreat on January 22 and 23rd.

Fun February "Beat the Winter Doldrums" Project
February 6-7 at the Emma Norton Residence in St. Paul

The United Methodist Women have a fun service project planned for the weekend of February 6-7 and we are counting on a few good women (or men) to help! A team of 4-5 people are going to renovate one of the rooms at the Emma Norton Residence in St. Paul: that is, clean, paint and redecorate the room. The first day would be cleaning and painting, the second day would be decorating, with some time thrown in for shopping for the room décor. The funding for this project will be provided by the United Methodist Women. Emma Norton Services has a residence for women who might otherwise be homeless and who struggle with issues of chemical dependency, mental health, and domestic violence. Call or email Nancy Gale if you are interested: (763) 509-0622 (h) or (763) 350-2354 (c) or [email protected].

Holy Land Pilgrimage with Kent Millard

Join Dr. Kent Millard for a spiritual pilgrimage to the Holy Land scheduled for September of 2016. For those who have visited these sacred sites, it is often referred to as the most important trip of their lives.  To make this pilgrimage even more special, Dr. Millard will be joined by Ken Knowles, one of the most loved musicians from the St. Luke's choir who will be providing special music throughout the trip.

  New Curch Directory - 2016

There will be a new picture directory next Fall. Directories help members and families connect to each other and to be informed of ministry programs.

Photos will be taken the summer of 2016. The directory will be timed to allow photos to be ordered for gifts for family and friends for next Christmas and to allow photos to be taken of students before returning to school.

There will be a need for volunteers this Spring and Summer for scheduling and record keeping. The lead committee is Bobbie Keller, John Roberts and Jerry Ballard. If you are interested in helping on this project, contact Marlys Grantwit, 952.831.0378 or [email protected].

Contributions
Thank you for all of your pledges! The initial counts have been encouraging! If you would still like to pledge for 2016, please pick up a card at the church or call 612-871-5303 to have one mailed.
