The Colorado Department of Education announced that Colorado will switch from the ACT to the SAT as the college entrance exam administered to high school juniors. Juniors this year will still be administered the ACT, but sophomores will be administered the PSAT in preparation for the switch to the SAT next year. Read the CDE news release

DCSD Parent Liaison, Kathy Brown, believes that every parent should have the opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, gain direct clarification on issues, and be engaged with their child's education. In fact, her goal is to problem solve for families and lighten the load for very busy parents.

Their app, which is titled "School In One" aims to bring together information from a number of other apps into one, easier to use resource. Now they are vying for the national title. Read more

Fifth graders from Franktown Elementary are hoping a project they started for an Imagination Destination competition will benefit Promise Ranch, a horse ranch that supports kids with special needs.
