For many of students, back to school is an exciting time, meeting the teachers and making new friends, but here at Abilities, we help students look to the future and prepare for life after graduation.  Our Employment Pathways division provides School-to-Work Student Transition program designed for each individual; to provide prevocational training, career planning, application assistance, job sampling, job placement, long term follow along support, and so much more!  In addition, Abilities is now offering two new skill trainings to students; SustainAbilities™ Electronics Recycling and Hydroponic/Greenhouse Training.

Thank you to Lou Wonslidler of BLT Ceramic Occasion for donating molds, glazes, ceramics and brushes to help get the crafting started!

Many hours has been spent sorting through all that was donated in anticipation of the first firing. Until then, there has been a lot of practicing of painting skills on smaller items.  Once the set-up process is complete, crafting of Christmas ornaments, tiles and coasters, and other one-of-a-kind pieces will begin.  All handcrafted pieces will be available for purchase.

We're excited for this new crafting opportunity, which will be available for use by all of our program locations!
