Empowering people with disabilities by providing options and opportunities.

As October is winding down, we'd like to share with you some of the activities that have kept us busy!   The month began by all of our locations declaring it "Positive Attitude Month".  We also participated in National Disability Employment Awareness Month, by celebrating success and being honored by the Arc.  We hosted our 17th Annual Tricky Tray to a sell-out crowd, raising nearly $12,000.   And so much more!

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)

The purpose of National Disability Employment Awareness Month is to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities.

Celebration of Success
Early October,
we Celebrated Success by honoring individual achievements, community partnerships, and business partnerships with center-based and community-based employment opportunities, during a breakfast celebration at Hawk Pointe.  Recognized that morning, for their continued support of our organization included: Linda Gregg of the House of Good Shepherd, Mars Chocolate North America, Service Partner, Rossi GMC, Edible Garden, Norwescap Food Bank, Hackettstown High School and Quick Chek. We also celebrated many of our consumers, pictured below. For more photos, visit us on FACEBOOK, or in the Warren Reporter

Award of Honor
We were also honored this month, at the Arc of Warren County's

Hackettstown Center visits Tranquillity Farms as part of Positive Attitude Month

At Abilities, October is also Positive Attitude Month, and our Hackettstown Center went for a trip to Tranquillity Farms in Allamuchy, for their positive "Festive" activity.  With the beautiful fall foliage all around, the day was a celebration filled with a hay ride, pumpkin picking, a corn maze benefiting Breast Cancer, and time spent with Zulu the Zonkey (Zebra-Donkey) and the other farm animals.

Positive Attitude Month was celebrated in many ways throughout all of our centers, and we will share more stories in next months mailing.  It is said that: A great attitude becomes a great mood, which becomes a great day, which becomes a great year, which becomes a GREAT LIFE!
