Leadership Introduction
From Paul Douglass, Finance & BHC Advisory Committees

Paul Douglass
We here at River Cities United Way would like to wish you and your family a wonderful Holiday Season!

If you are looking for something rewarding to do for 2016; volunteering at United Way costs you nothing - and your efforts stay in our local community.  Feel free to browse the RCUW website, stop by your local United Way office, or call to see how you can help.

If donating money is a better option for you, donations are welcome and stay here in our local community.  Local volunteers help decide which partner agencies your donations are directed towards.

Thanks to the Arizona legislature; The Qualifying Charitable Organization [tax credit], a sort of remake to the former "Working Poor", allows you to direct $200 for individuals, and $400 for couples filing joint to your AZ state taxes to potentially increase your refund, or reduce your amount owed.

Donations to RCUW via Qualifying Charitable Organizations must be made by December 31 to qualify for the 2015 tax year. If you use the deduction on your Federal Schedule A, be sure to remove them from your Arizona Schedule A deductions and claim them as Tax Credits on your Arizona return.  You do NOT need to itemize your deductions to take advantage of these Arizona credits.

Be sure to keep records and receipts of your donations, and consult your tax professional for further assistance.
