The No. 12 Virginia Wesleyan College men's basketball team could not capitalize on a shot attempt before time expired, falling 64-61 to No. 13 Christopher Newport University in non-conference action Sunday.

LATE RUN CARRIES CAPTAINS PAST VWC 83-73 
The Virginia Wesleyan College women's basketball team led 45-44 midway through the third quarter, but a 7-0 Christopher Newport run gave a lead to the Captains that they would not relinquish in an 83-73 non-conference decision Sunday afternoon.
