Answer to Today's Dos & Don'ts

"Should companies give Holiday bonuses?"

Answer
From year to year, surveys are conducted that reflect consistently that about 50% of companies give some form of holiday bonus generally as a simple form of saying "thank you" for being part of the team. Assuming we take out year-end bonuses that reward performance, holiday bonuses tend to be cash or gifts under $100. And, instead of cash or gifts, many companies may offer employees a paid day off instead. Once you start a holiday bonus program, it is recommended to keep it going. If you stop, employees may view it as a take-away. Many companies avoid holiday bonuses to avoid entitlement issues.
