Dear Coaches,
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones!
Here's what's happening in NYC. First, thanks to those of you who joined us at the December 15th Chapter Holiday party at the Penn Club. And a special thanks to our party planners: Directors Robin Schletter, Yana Blackwelder and Susan Ginsberg-O'Sullivan, and registration hosts, Amy Bloustine, who's also our featured coach for January, and Yona Adika. Great party!
A warm welcome to our new NYC Chapter members! Twenty coaches joined the NYC Chapter since our last update. Chapter membership is up to 562. We appreciate your support and look forward to learning about you and how we can collaborate to advance the coaching profession.
Take advantage of Lynn Meinke, PCC's core competency #11 teleclass on January 4th. Lynn will cover the last competency in the ICF Philadelphia Chapter's teleclass series. Thanks to the 13 Northeast ICF Chapters who share their virtual offerings, and greatly increase the professional development opportunities for our NYC members.
On January 19th, please join us for an evening with Peter Hawkins, PhD where he will present on his latest Team Coaching book. As a bonus, attendees will receive a complimentary copy. Nice! A reception will follow the presentation. This event is hosted by ICF NYC and sponsored by Team Coaching Zone, Columbia Coaching Certification Program, Academy of Executive Coaching and The Five O'Clock Club. Seating is limited, so don't wait to sign up!
Stay tuned for few new initiatives launching in early 2016, including: Demystifying the ICF Credentialing Process, Coach/Mentor Program, NYC Chapter Book Club, and a Welcome New Member breakfast series. More information to follow.
Keep up with ICF NYC on Social Media - the LinkedIn group is here. And, the Facebook group is here. Check it out and contribute to the conversation!
Joy Passey
is leading a new NYCHA pro-bono coaching project. Thanks to the following coaches for their support and participation: Gala Mars; Maria Caso; Asli Kosedag; and AnneMarie Colucci.
ICF Foundation
and ICF New York City chapter are joining together for a new pro bono initiative in the spring of 2016. In a unique opportunity, ICF Foundation is participating in a pilot project sponsored by the global law firm, Baker & McKenzie called, "The Career Academy". Inspired by survivor, Evelyn Chumbow - the Career Academy aspires to meaningfully assist survivors of human trafficking to move into satisfying, long-term professional careers. How can you help? During the pilot project, coaches will work with the individuals to strengthen self-esteem and confidence so each taps into their full potential. Coaching areas will most likely cover career and life transitioning, decision-making and creating balance between professional and personal life. If you are interested, contact Joy Passey at [email protected].
That's all for now - wishing you a happy and healthy New Year filed with adventures, new beginnings, and lots of celebrations! Looking forward to seeing you in January!
