SEE WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO!
October 2015

Director and Administrative Assistant's Comments
Fall is in full swing in Berlin and there is still plenty to do! The weather is gorgeous, the leaves are changing, and Berlin is gearing up for its Autumn and Holiday Event season. We're excited about Fall Cruisers on October 10th and helping out with town events upcoming, including Octoberfest and the Fall sidewalk sale October 17th.
We were very pleased with the turnout and outcome of the 23rd Annual Fiddler's Convention, and are already working towards new and fun ideas for next year. We want to personally thank everyone who made the Convention possible. Special thanks to our gracious volunteers and our amazing sponsors. This year was better than ever and we are looking forward to next year with great excitement! We couldn't have done this without all of the help we received, and we are incredibly grateful. The addition of the beer garden Friday night and our "Kid's Row" activities were a great success and we were glad to see so many smiling faces, young and old. Congratulations to all the winners this year, we look forward to you returning next year to vie for your titles!  Keep in mind, our prime prerogative is to make sure everyone is satisfied with our events-so please remember our chamber door is always open for suggestions or comments.
We've finalized the event listing for next year's Chamber events, and we can't wait to get started on making them bigger and better than ever. In the meantime- we want you to come to Berlin and enjoy everything our gorgeous town has to offer. Christmas will be here faster than you think, and we have so many boutiques and gift stores with the perfect present for any personality type. Happy Fall!

Spotlight on New Business
Something's "Abuzz" in Berlin

We were happy to be there for the Ribbon Cutting September 11th when owner Lori Wagman opened the doors to "The Beez Kneez Boutique" at 101 Williams Street, Suite 1, Berlin, MD. The store is one of our newest Chamber members! The shop offers everything from handmade soaps, body salts, shampoos, stone and glass jewelry, items for baby and home, gifts, and artisanal products galore. Wagman told the Bayside Gazette her store wasn't just about a product, but a lifestyle, free of harsh chemicals, and she puts that into practice with the products she makes. For a great variety of all natural soaps and sundries, and much more, check out The Beez Kneez boutique today. Congratulations! Check her out on Facebook.

Want to live Local? Think Coastal.

Recent joining members The Coastal Association of Realtors (CAR for short) held their Ribbon Cutting ceremony on September 28th at their offices at 314 Williams Street, Suite 105, Berlin, MD. Vicki Harmon, the 2015 President of CAR's Director Board, said they were proud to be located in America's Coolest Small Town. (And we're proud to have them!) Keep in mind however that they service Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset Counties, and supports over 1,000 realtors! The Association has stated it's primary priorities are to "Promote homeownership; Protect the right to own and use private property; Enable members to transact business to the advantage and protection of the public and members; Promote and maintain high standards of practice; Preserve real property rights and advance economic growth; And work to help our members conduct successful, professional, ethical, and profitable business." We're thrilled to have this great team working here and even more excited to have them as chamber member's! For more information on their company, visit:  www.coastalrealtors.org .

Berlin Girl's Got a "Heart of Gold"

Emily Cook Vocke recently opened "Heart of Gold" kids boutique at 116 Broad Street, Suite 3, Berlin, MD. Vocke is a Berlin native, and after having a baby, she saw the need for a kid's boutique in our area, especially one with unique offerings. The shop carries everything from kids toys, mommy-to-be accessories, jewelry, and most importantly fun and hip kids clothes! Emily has said she is trying to stock the store with only organic cotton and U.S. made goods. You won't simply find your run of the mill pink and blue baby clothes here, she offers leggings, fun t-shirts, onesies with clever slogans, and more ranging from newborn to 5T. We're thrilled to have Emily and her family back here in our town, and as a part of the Chamber. We know you're going to be a huge hit with everyone, both young and small! Check her out on   Facebook.
