This two hour class will be both challenging and revitalizing.
We begin with a powerful Vinyasa flow to build strength, flexibility and focus, and then finish with a nourishing
restorative sequence. Our pace will allow for a deeper
study of foundation, and provide a well deserved opportunity
to fully disengage from the busyness of daily life.
All levels are welcome.
Originally a student of Iyengar yoga, Coeli found the Baptiste method in 1998. She became a Master Baptiste teacher, with a specialization in the craft of training teachers and classroom assistants. Coeli is the founder of the Teachers Study Project, a training and mentoring school for professional yoga teachers. She is certified by Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour and E-RYT 500 level, received her Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is trained in outdoor leadership through Outward Bound and NOLS.

Knowledge and practice of proper alignment for each yoga pose allow us to release the prana, life-force energy, within our bodies. We'll focus on the basic alignmnt for each pose so that we may find our "limit" and move beyond it to enhance our practice and deepen our experience on the mat.

This daunting task was the work of Janus, the Roman god of January. Janus had two faces. One gazed into the past,
while the other looked into the future.
There is learning in the stories of the ancient gods.
One of the most powerful was the attempt to find
peace and contentment in the context of lives filled
with more questions than answers.
Early travelers were guided by the stars and planets much
as mariners are today. We look up into the clear night sky
with wonder. We feel small and perhaps realize there is something bigger to help guide us on our journeys
through life. Without a roadmap we could be lost in the wilderness and drift without purpose.
Janus reminds us to honor the past and embrace the future.
As yogis, we study further to understand that true
contentment is found in the present moment;
no guilt nor attachment to the past, and no vice-grip
on our plans for the future.
Consider this affirmation for the first month of the year:
I accept, honor and close the door on my past.
I anticipate with full faith and curiosity that which
lies ahead. With every breath, I am aware of the present moment and the simple contentment found in being here now.
