This survey supports
school improvement

Carrollton City schools are participating in the Georgia Parent Survey program and need your help.

The survey contains only 24 questions. You will be able to complete the survey using your personal computers, smartphones or iPads in just a matter of minutes.

All survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for school climate analysis.

The survey will remain open through Friday, Feb. 26.

Thank you in advance for taking time out of your busy schedule to help us in this important school improvement effort.

Popular Hour of Code
returns to city schools

Last December, CES students became infatuated with the idea of computer programming, quite an accomplishment for our youngest learners.

They participated in Hour of Code, a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. All Carrollton City Schools participated in this global event last year and will again the week of Dec. 7-13, which happens to coincide with national Computer Science Week.

CES will place school-wide emphasis on Monday, Dec. 7, with help from Carrollton High School computer programming students and community volunteers.

Holiday book drive
to benefit CES students
Now through Monday, Dec. 7, CES will be collecting new and gently used children's books for students prekindergarten to third-grade-plus to distribute to CES students at their homes.

"On Dec. 17 after early release, we will have a faculty/staff luncheon and then head out on a field trip to the neighborhoods of the children we serve to give them the books we have collected," said Karen Wild, CES principal. "Our teachers are really excited about doing this, especially this time of year."

Drop off locations are available at all Carrollton City Schools libraries/media centers.
