FOCUS: Special Announcements

May 2014

This is a special message about upcoming opportunities for credit unions. Due to the timing of these events, we are providing this special edition of Announcements to allow sufficient advance notice to you, your board, staff and volunteers.

OSCUI Now Accepting CU Nominations for Consulting

OSCUI provides free consulting services to small and low-income designated credit unions. The service is provided by experienced economic development specialists who offer assistance in budgeting, marketing, policy development, strategic planning, and operational and regulatory areas. Another great advantage is our EDS provide assistance onsite, so there's no travel expense for your credit union.

Credit unions with total assets under $50 million, a new charter (fewer than 10 years), or a low-income designation are eligible for the Consulting Program. Credit unions may nominate themselves or be nominated by their NCUA examiner. Credit unions not chosen in one round may apply again in subsequent rounds.

Interested credit unions can learn more about NCUA's Consulting Program by watching three videos [click here].

The next opportunity for eligible credit unions to be considered for assistance ends May 31, 2014. Credit unions selected will receive assistance during the six month period from July through December 2014.
